Phyllis S. Quinlan, PhD, RN-BC

Phyllis has practiced nursing as a staff nurse, educator and nurse executive in a variety of clinical settings, such as emergency, acute care, skilled nursing and subacute care departments. She is the founder and president of her consulting firm, MFW Consultants To Professionals, Inc. As a successful nurse entrepreneur, she has consulted and offered continuing education on clinical and non-clinical subjects. Since 2004, she has also practiced as a legal nurse consultant specializing in defense in the Greater New York area and throughout New York State.

As a student of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings and Feng Shui practitioner, Phyllis promotes balanced living and work environments, and often blends traditional personal coaching practices with Eastern philosophy and complementary healing modalities.

Phyllis was featured in the National Health Career Network’s Take Charge of Your Nursing Career Webcast Series in 2012. As personal and career coach, Phyllis specializes in the unique needs of nurses and other professional/family caregivers. She is devoted to working with clients coping with the emotional impact of compassion fatigue, the challenges of career transition and those trying to maintain their joy in being a professional caregiver. She is known for delivering compelling presentations and is a sought-after guest lecturer and keynote speaker across the country.

Phyllis regularly appears on the online program Nursing Success TV at in her Ask Dr. Phyllis coaching segment. She is also the career coach for the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses and the Colorado Hospital Association, and has been named to the list of coaches serving the American Hospital Association and many state hospital associations.
